For the first time EVER since first developing this program in 2014, Avani is offering her dreadlock artist training PUBLICLY to anyone who is interested. No application, interview, or anything else required other than your open mind and a commitment to learn!

This class designed entirely by Avani is based on her 10+ years of experience in the field of doing dreadlocks. Including over 150 pages of text, this is a module-based program designed to be completed over the course of 10 - 20 weeks. There will be weekly lectures based on the reading material which includes special tips and commentary by Avani. Each weekly module covers one or two major topics surrounding the science and artistry of dreadlocks and includes original reading materials created by Avani herself, a practical assignment, a written assignment, and a quiz. Materials is graded, but the course is designed for your SUCCESS!

This comprehensive course is offered through Google Classroom. Class codes for each module will be provided weekly as modules are completed. Each module must be completed within 2 weeks. Please note that this is NOT an accredited course.

Students must acquire the following items by the start of Module 6 in order to complete the course. (That a total of 6 - 12 weeks which should be more than enough time!):

• 2 - dread combs (either Knotty Boy or Dreadhead HQ)
• 2 - loose hair tools (made by Dreadhead HQ)
• 2 - micro latch hooks (available at Sally’s Beauty Supply)
• 4 - 0.45 mm Tulip crochet hooks w/ergonomic grip
• 1 mannequin head (12 - 14” human hair)

Other recommended items include 2 rat tail combs, small rubber bands (like those used for braids), hair ties, and clips.
