Appointment Arrival Procedure

Alright, you’ve scheduled your appointment, you’ve received your confirmation message, you’ve read about the Post-Quarantine Appointment Policies… now the day has come and you need to know what to do! Well, here it is:

Take Your Temperature Before You Leave For Your Appointment!

I’ll be doing it when you arrive, too, and if your temperature is at or above 99°F I’m going to send you home anyway. Avoid unnecessary travel by being sure ahead of time.

For the foreseeable future until we can be sure that this pandemic thing is really over, all penalties for last-minute scheduled are suspended, so the deposit will STILL forward to the next appointment when you are healthy again.

Use a Public Restroom Before Arrival.

Ok, this one is not a hard and fast rule. But I would really appreciate if folks would do it anyway! Anything I can do to minimize the potential contact between any potential germs being crossed between you and my kiddos, the better I’ll feel — and I expect, so will you! Of course, I will be disinfecting the bathroom and the door knobs regularly especially if they are touched or used by clients, too, though. So if you DO have an emergency and need to use the bathroom, I’ll be doing everything I can to make that safe, too.

Follow My Parking Directions.

In your 2-day email there are specific instructions about parking. Here it is again just in case:

“Follow [the street I am located on] then take a right onto t[he street just before my house], and turn into the driveway on your immediate left. (We keep it open special for YOU!) That is [my location] and the dreadlock studio is the small structure straight ahead of where you are parked.”

(NOTE: street names and number are, of course, included in your email) If you arrive and the driveway is still occupied, please park on the side of the road ON MY PROPERTY, not across the street. The neighbor there is kind of a jerk. :-/

Stay In Your Car Until I Get You!

By staying put it’ll give me the time I need to disinfect between each and every client. This is also when I’ll be taking your temperature. I’ll ask you to roll down your window and I’ll be using an infrared, contactless thermometer to check. If your temperature is at or above 99°F I will ask you to reschedule to a later date when you are well.

Again, for the foreseeable future until we can be sure that this pandemic thing is really over, all penalties for last-minute scheduled are suspended, so the deposit will STILL forward to the next appointment when you are healthy again.

Wear a Surgical Mask.

I will be wearing one and if you only have a cloth mask I will provide a surgical mask for you to wear instead once we are sure that your temperature is within normal, healthy range. This is not optional. If you want me to work on your dreadlocks. You will wear a mask.

Thank You In Advance For Your Understanding.

I know this sucks. It’s the worst to feel like you have to treat every person like they have the plague. (That phrase has never seemed more real before!) I don’t like it and I know you don’t like it either. I appreciate you understanding that all of this is just to make sure we all stay as safe and healthy as possible.

That all said, I look forward to seeing you soon!

Blessings
